How to send digital files for your book.
The digital files for your book may be mailed to us on disc (CD or DVD), or they can be uploaded to our FTP server. To transfer to our FTP, you must be given a username and password. Please contact us at the email or phone numbers listed to the left.

FTP address: ftp://70.169.188.46

Before you send files.
Prior to using FTP, please send an email to your Customer Service Representative to let them know the details of your file transfer. If we have notification beforehand, we will be able to get the files where they need to be in a more efficient manner. At that time, please indicate the size of the files you are posting so that we may be certain there is room on the server.

Are you using a Mac?
If you are sending mac files you will need to archive (zip) the files before uploading them to the ftp site.

Once the files are posted they will be managed by our prepress department (moved and deleted accordingly). Your temporary ftp access will be moved after your project is complete. For subsequent projects, you will need to call again for a new FTP username and password.

What is FTP?
FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is an effective way of sending larger files via the internet. Among printing companies, its acceptance is universal because we have realized over the last few years that our customers are becoming more internet-savvy. Much quicker and convenient than using an email attachment, FTP capability can handle large amounts of information without crashing. If your files are extremely large, it is a good idea to compress them or break them up into smaller parts, such as breaking your book up into chapters or blocks of pages. When a file is prepared for printing it usually ends up large merely because it may contain graphics or design elements.

Any type of file can be "posted" using FTP but, if you're uncertain as to our compatibility with the type of file you're using please contact us. Many page layout programs are making it easier to convert to Postscript and PDF and these conversions make it easier for us to work with the files.
